The Cognitive Hearing Science for Communication (CHSCOM) Conference 2019, Linköping, Sweden
The fifth edition of Cognitive Hearing Science for Communication Conference (CHSCOM 2019) took place in Linkoping, Sweden between 9-12 June 2019. HEAR-ECO was represented there by two fellows and three seniors. Tirdad Seifi Ala and Patrycja Ksiazek presented their groundwork results. Tirdad’s work focused on the development of a biomarker of listening effort using EEG, and Patrycja’s work involved pupillometry data analysis techniques that aim to capture listening effort.

Bethany Plain presented her PhD groundwork with a poster in the 2019 Aging and Speech Communication Conference. Her work is on the pre-ejection period of the cardiovascular data and her work will help to utilize this method in the measurement of listening effort.

Defne presented the results of her groundwork study in the Brain and Cognition Winter Conference of the Dutch Psychonomic Society in Egmont aan Zee, The Netherlands, on the 20th of December, 2019. Her poster showed the results of her study on the pupillometry measures of listening effort and fatigue.
