Our core research programme is funded by the Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Government and the UK Medical Research Council. Our research aims to inspire new ways to alleviate hearing disability through a deeper understanding of normal and impaired communication behaviour. We have a particular focus on bridging the gap between the artificiality typical of laboratory test paradigms and the uncontrolled nature of real life scenarios, to ensure that the knowledge we generate is both robust and relevant to the daily difficulties experienced by people with hearing loss.
