Sophia Kramer
Senior Researcher & Project Leader

Dr. Sophia E. Kramer is full professor at the department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, section Ear & Hearing, Amsterdam Public Health research institute, VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam. She is appointed on a University Research Chair (URC) which is a selective and privileged appointment. Title of her chair: Auditory Functioning and Participation.

Sophia Kramer is currently head of a multidisciplinary research team that focuses on four areas of research: ‘Listening effort & Cognition’, ‘Epidemiology of hearing loss’, ‘Speech Recognition’ and ‘Innovation & Evaluation of hearing healthcare’. She is the principal investigator of the National Longitudinal Study on Hearing (NL-SH) (www.hooronderzoek.nl).

Sophia is project leader of HEAR-ECO and is main supervisor of Bethany Plain, Patrycja Ksiacek, and Hidde Pielage.
